Welcome to the PMC Medfield Kids Ride!
For 2011, Pan-Mass Challenge event organizers Alex Freeman and Cal Given, of Medfield, Massachusetts, are fueling the future of cancer research. Together, they are organizing the annual Medfield PMC kid’s bike-a-thon, which is the original PMC Kids Ride and is now one of over 30 PMC Kids rides in Massachusetts. In total, the PMC Kids rides have raised more than $3 million for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Jimmy Fund. The original PMC Kids Ride, PMC Wildwood Challenge, was started by the Wilkinson family of Medfield in 1998 and has drawn hundreds of kids. This year, the goal for the Medfield Ride is to raise $25,000 for the PMC. Riders must sign up online ahead of time because the event fills up quickly and you won’t want to miss out on this wonderful family event.
This year, the PMC Medfield Kids Ride will recognize riders who raise $250 or more as Heavy Hitters. Heavy Hitters will be acknowledged the day of the ride and will receive special prizes. However, all riders are critical to the event and contribute toward the $25,000 event goal.
Kids in Medfield will be riding in honor of 9 year old Wheelock student, Olivia Bonfilio, who is currently being treated for leukemia at the Jimmy Fund Clinic. Come out and support your fellow student by raising money to fight cancer.
Please join us after the ride for refreshments, music / dancing and face painting. Great fun for the family! What a great way for a child to positively channel their energy and efforts to beat cancer.
Come ride with us!
