Welcome to the Canton PMC Kids Ride!

The ride this year will be VIRTUAL! While we can’t be together physically this year, your family can get involved in the PMC Kids Rides mission by signing up as virtual riders.

Riders are encouraged to get creative when deciding what their virtual PMC Kids Ride means to them. Whether it is a socially distant ride around the neighborhood, hitting a mileage goal or going on a long bike ride with family, it is up to you! Plan your virtual ride with us on September 18-20 for our PMC Kids Rides celebration or ride another weekend - either way we hope that you will join us as we raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute!

Please make sure to follow all public health regulations and guidelines for your area, while practicing safe social distancing. See the “Safety” section below for more tips.

Register to Ride Virtual

Parents will need to create an account or log in with an existing account in order to register their child or family. When creating an account, please enter the parent's information first as there will be a separate part in registration to enter the child's information.

Once registration is complete, parents will receive an email with information on how to log into their management page to customize donation pages and to track donations.

Download the rider bike tag and have your kids write their name and color it in before placing it on their bike.

Since the ride is virtual there is no registration fee or fundraising commitment. As such, riders will not receive the traditional goodie bag this year.

Fundraising

Virtual riders do not have a fundraising commitment, however we encourage all riders to set a fundraising goal to help us reach our 2020 goal of raising $41 million for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. 100% of all rider-raised dollars will go directly to lifesaving cancer research and treatment, which is needed now more than ever.

Riders who go above and beyond with their fundraising will be recognized as All Star Fundraisers, Heavy Hitters or Breakaway Fundraisers and will receive a special gift in recognition of their fundraising efforts in late Fall.

  • All Star – $100+, riders will receive a PMC Kids Rides pennant
  • Heavy Hitter – $400+, riders will receive a PMC hat
  • Breakaway Fundraiser – $900+, riders will receive an item in the PMC store

Rider Bike Tag / Why I PMC

Click on the buttons below to download fun tools to make your 2020 PMC Kids Rides experience special!

Customize your very own PMC Kids Rides bike tag! Register as a virtual rider and then download the PMC Kids Rides bike tag! Make sure to write your name on the tag and color it in to make it your own! Parents, please cut out the bike tag for your kids and help them fasten it on their bike. We recommend using string or zip-ties to fasten!

Share why you PMC! Everyone participates in a PMC Kids Ride for their own personal reasons - this is your opportunity to share why you PMC. Download the poster and share in a few words "why you PMC". Take a photo with your sign and share on social media or in emails to your donors and supporters.

Donate

100 percent of all rider-raised dollars go directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Donate online or by check. Checks can be made payable to the Pan-Mass Challenge or PMC. Please send all checks to:

PMC Kids Rides

Needham, MA 02494

Make sure that the rider's name is listed so they can receive credit!

Safety

Please follow all public health regulations and guidelines for your area while biking in your neighborhood. Limit large groups of unrelated bikers and practice safe, social distancing.

General Safety Tips!

  1. Wear a properly-fitted helmet.
  2. Ride with a parent or guardian.
  3. Hands should remain on handlebars.
  4. Never wear any kind of headphones. You need to hear clearly.
  5. When passing, make sure to yell “on your left!”
  6. If you need to slow down or stop to cross an intersection or obstacle, yell “slowing” or “stopping” to alert those behind you.

Volunteers

Since the program has gone virtual, we do not have any physical volunteer opportunities this year. The PMC encourages all volunteers to consider becoming a PMC Virtual Rider to continue our shared commitment to Dana-Farber. You'll need to log in using a PMC account (not a PMC Kids Rides account) to set up your virtual ride.

You can ask that your fundraising be directed towards the Canton PMC Kids Ride by emailing kids@pmc.org
