PMC Kids Rides Fundraising

PMC Kids Rides participants have a fundraising commitment starting at $35 (varies by ride) and are asked to raise money by requesting contributions from family members, friends and neighbors. The fundraising commitment is due September 1, 2020, for Kids Rides held in the spring and is due October 15, 2020, for Kids Rides help in the fall.

100 percent of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – every donation makes a difference. 

PMC Kids Rides Heavy Hitters and Breakaway Fundraisers

Each rider who raises $350 or more will be honored as a PMC Kids Ride Heavy Hitter and each rider who raises more than $900 will be honored as a PMC Kids Breakaway Fundraiser. Both PMC Kids Heavy Hitters and Breakaway Fundraisers will be recognized with a special PMC item and certificate to distinguish their achievement.


Fundraising Tips

Here are some creative ideas to make fundraising "fun"raising!

  • Have a yard sale
  • Bake some treats and have a neighborhood bake sale
  • Run a lemonade stand
  • Have a car wash
  • Write a personal letter to send to friends, family, and neighbors. Let them know what you are doing and why you are riding.
  • Make giving easy - When writing your letters, include a self-addressed stamped envelope or a link to your direct fundraising page.
  • Take your letter to local businesses to see if they will sponsor your ride.
  • Send an email to your friends and family letting them know how to donate to your ride online using eGifts.
  • Remember to write a personal thank you note to all your sponsors.
  • Set up a refreshment stand at your Youth Soccer Games, Little League Games, or other athletic event.
  • Offer to do chores for neighbors, friends and family in exchange for a contribution to your ride
  • Babysit in exchange for a donation
  • Walk your neighbor’s dog for a contribution
  • Have your family put all their loose change into a donation jar
  • Involve your classmates and your teacher at school! Lots of schools are allowing “hat or dress down days” with classmates to raise money for the Kids Ride.

The PMC Kids Rides Program can accept donations online and by check. Search for a rider to donate to or find a ride to support.

Donate Online

Each PMC Kids Ride participant has his or her own online fundraising page. PMC Kids Ride registration is completed as a family and the adult completing registration will have the option to set up a family fundraising page (ideal for families with more than one child participating in a PMC Kids Ride) in addition to each rider's fundraising page.

Each rider has a donation page and a profile page where photos and information about why they're riding and fundraising can be shared.

Families are encouraged to share these links by email and on social media to solicit donations for the PMC Kids Ride.
