The Norfolk County Sheriff's Office is honored to host their third annual PMC Kids Ride - Norfolk County Public Safety Kids Ride on Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 10 am - 1 pm. We are excited to collaborate with the Cohasset Police Department this year. The Norfolk County Public Safety Kids Ride will occur at the Deer Hill/Osgood School Campus, 203 Sohier Street, Cohasset. We look forward to your families joining us in having some fun with the intention of raising funds for the research and treatment of this devastating disease that affects too many people of all ages. This is a great event in which the kids can help raise funds to help their own family members and friend who may be afflicted with this terrible disease.  100% of the rider raised funds are donated to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund to find a way to wipe out cancer.o find a way to wipe out cancer. ## Schedule of Events - 9:30 am – 9:50 am:   Rider check-in and Registration - 9:50 - 10 am -   Opening ceremony and Sheriff’s remarks - 10:00 am:  Ride starts on the track **(Route approved by PMC)** - 11:30 am- 1:00 pm:   After party!! TPU providing lunch ## Routes - **Tot Rider:** MIGHTY TIKE RIDERS!! Riders ride on campus in a contained area perfect for those with training wheels, tricycles or needing supervision.  It is a small rotary type area in front of one of our buildings. - **Challenge Route:** This is ¼ of a mile loop around the rope course on the campus which the Riders can loop as many times as they would like. **ROAD RUNNERS!!** Riders who go around the loop twice (1/2 mile). **ROAD WARRIORS!! **Riders who go around the loop four times (1 mile). **ROAD CAPTAINS!!** Riders who go around the loop five or more times.  - **Virtual Rider:** Virtual riders are those who would prefer to ride on their own and not in person at the event. Virtual riders who raise $50 or more will receive an official PMC Kids Rides t-shirt and water bottle at the end of October for spring rides. Virtual riders have no registration fee or fundraising ## Register to Ride Parents will need to create an account or log in with an existing account to register their child or family. When creating an account, please enter the parent's information first, as there will be a separate section in registration to enter the child's information. Under "Event Option" parents will be able to select a route for each child. Riders have a $20 registration fee and a $40 fundraising minimum. Parents will need to sign a waiver and agree to the fundraising commitment in order to complete registration. In-person riders will receive their rider kit at the ride. **Virtual Rider** Parents will be able to select the “Virtual Rider” route if their child will not be riding in person but still wants to support the PMC Kids Rides program. Virtual riders can ride in their own neighborhood on the day of the ride or whenever they'd like! If a virtual rider raises $50 or more, they will receive an official PMC Kids Rides t-shirt and water bottle at the end of October for fall rides.  Once registration is complete for both in-person and virtual riders, parents will receive a confirmation email with information on how to log into their management page to customize donation pages and to track donations.    [ Register ](https://secure.kids.pmc.org/Register/norfolkcountysheriffs) ## Fundraising The fundraising minimum for each rider is $40 and is due by October 31. Riders who go above and beyond with their fundraising will be recognized as Heavy Hitters or Breakaway Fundraisers and will receive a special gift in recognition of their fundraising efforts. - **Heavy Hitter** –$500+, riders will receive a special PMC Kids Rides gift and certificate. - **Breakaway Fundraiser** – $1,000+, riders will receive a special PMC Kids Rides branded gift and certificate. **Fundraising Tips** - Customize your rider profile page (set a goal, include why you are riding and a photo) - Set up a [Facebook Fundraiser](https://kids.pmc.org/facebook-fundraisers) - Start your fundraising early - Send out hand-written letters or emails to your friends and family **Click [here](https://kids.pmc.org/fundraise) for more fundraising tips** ## Rider Bike Tag / Why I PMC Click on the buttons below to download fun tools to make your 2020 PMC Kids Rides experience special! **Customize your very own PMC Kids Rides bike tag!** Register as a virtual rider and then download the PMC Kids Rides bike tag! Make sure to write your name on the tag and color it in to make it your own! Parents, please cut out the bike tag for your kids and help them fasten it on their bike. We recommend using string or zip-ties to fasten! **Share why you PMC!** Everyone participates in a PMC Kids Ride for their own personal reasons - this is your opportunity to share why you PMC. Wear a properly-fitted helmet (children are required to wear helmets when participating). 2. Ride in control – this is not a race. 3. Hands should remain on handlebars. 4. Never wear any kind of headphones. You need to hear clearly. 5. Follow the ride guides and volunteers. 6. When passing other rides, make sure to yell “on your left!” Never pass riders on the right. 7. If you need to slow down or stop to cross an intersection or obstacle, yell “slowing” or “stopping” to alert those behind you. *Each PMC Kids Ride has a licensed medical professional on site.* ## Volunteers Get the entire family involved and support the event by volunteering! Be a ride marshal, work at a water stop, help distribute snacks and more. PMC Pedal Partners are pediatric oncology patients at the Jimmy Fund Clinic who are paired with PMC Kids Rides or PMC teams.
