Welcome to the Wakefield-Lynnfield PMC Kids Ride!

Join us for the third annual Wakefield-Lynnfield PMC Kids Ride on Sunday, September 19 at Market Street Lynnfield!

We're excited to return for another incredible year of biking, community, and giving back — and this year, we're riding with even more heart. Our 2025 ride was in honor of Leo, our brave and inspiring 5-year-old Pedal Partner, who is currently undergoing treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Every dollar raised supports vital cancer research and compassionate care at Dana-Farber, bringing us closer to a cure.

Whether you're a returning rider or joining us for the first time, we hope you'll be part of this fun, family-friendly event. Bring your bikes, your energy, and your spirit — together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of kids like Leo.

Let’s ride, rally, and raise for Dana-Farber!

Schedule of Events

  • 8:30 am: Registration opens
  • 9:20 am: Opening Ceremonies
  • 9:30 am: RIDE!
  • 9:30 - 11:30 am: Activities

Getting to the ride!

The ride will take place in the parking lot next to La Gallina (1150 Market St, Lynnfield, MA 01940). There is plenty of parking in adjacent lots and it will be a quick walk to the ride!

Routes

  • The Loop-de-Loop: This year’s ride will feature one big route (approx. 0.4 miles)  that’s perfect for all ages and abilities — whether you're just learning to ride or already zooming along! The ride will take place at Market Street Lynnfield, and riders can go around as many times as they’d like.

It’s not about how far or how fast you go — it’s about coming together, having fun, and riding to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber. Every pedal helps bring hope and healing to kids and families who need it most.

  • Virtual Rider: Virtual riders are those who would prefer to ride on their own and not in person at the event. Virtual riders who raise $50 or more will receive an official PMC Kids Rides t-shirt and water bottle at the end of September for fall rides. Virtual riders have no registration fee or fundraising commitment.

Safety

The PMC Kids Rides program follows all public health regulations and guidelines for your area.

General Safety Tips!

  1. Wear a properly-fitted helmet (children are required to wear helmets when participating).
  2. Ride in control – this is not a race.
  3. Hands should remain on handlebars.
  4. Never wear any kind of headphones. You need to hear clearly.
  5. Follow the ride guides and volunteers.
  6. When passing other rides, make sure to yell “on your left!” Never pass riders on the right.
  7. If you need to slow down or stop to cross an intersection or obstacle, yell “slowing” or “stopping” to alert those behind you.

Each PMC Kids Ride has a licensed medical professional on site.

PMC Pedal Partner - Leo

The PMC Pedal Partner Program is a wonderful way for riders to connect with a child who has been affected by cancer. PMC Pedal Partners are pediatric oncology patients at the Jimmy Fund Clinic who are paired with PMC Kids Rides or PMC teams.

Meet Leo!

Leo is the 2025 PMC Pedal Partner for the Wakefield-Lynnfield PMC Kids Ride!

Leo is a curious five-year-old who loves Legos and trains, and dreams of being a police officer or helicopter pilot when he grows up. Facing the many challenges of pediatric cancer, the Jimmy Fund provides Leo and his family with exceptional care and guidance every step of the way. Most importantly, Leo is still able to be the adventurous kid he has always been.

If you know a child in treatment at the Jimmy Fund who is interested in being a PMC Pedal Partner for a PMC Kids Ride, please contact Katie Iwanowicz, PMC Pedal Partner Program Coordinator, at katie@pmc.org
