Welcome to the Wilmington PMC Kids Ride!

The Wilmington PMC Kids Ride is ready for their 15th ride! Last year we raised over $13,000! The ride will continue to be headquartered at the Boutwell Elementary School in Wilmington. We are hoping for 200 children, pre-kindergarten through sixth grade with a goal of $18,000!

Ride History

The ride was started by Sue Hendee and Carolyn Priem, and has raised just over $200,000 to help fight cancer! Sue is a 29 year PMC rider and a physical education teacher in Wilmington. Carolyn’s son was treated at the Jimmy Fund Clinic and is now a healthy high school student. Six years ago we welcomed Sheila Salois as another coordinator who has taken over for Carolyn. Sheila is a physical education teacher at Andover High School and Carolyn continues to help us out at the refreshment tent the day of the ride.

  • 1-Mile loop: Continuous loop beginning by Boutwell Elementary School, heading down Carter Lane past Wilmington Middle School and West Elementary School ground. Riders then return back to Boutwell (approximately one-mile). Children can stop whenever they want and/or take short breaks and get back on the course for as long as time permits for their age group.
    • 9 - 10 am: Students 4th through 6th grade ride
    • 10:15 - 11 am: Students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade ride
  • Tykes on Trikes: There will be an area set up on the Boutwell tennis courts for pre-school aged riders.

100 percent of all rider-raised dollars go directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Donate online or by check. Checks can be made payable to the Pan-Mass Challenge or PMC. Please send all checks to:

  6. When passing, make sure to yell “on your left!”
  7. If you need to slow down or stop to cross an intersection or obstacle, yell “slowing” or “stopping” to alert those behind you.

Each PMC Kids Ride has a licensed medical professional on site.

Sponsorship Opportunities

The Wilmington PMC Kids Rides relies on local sponsors to help keep costs low and so that the PMC can continue to donate 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. If you or your company are interested in becoming a sponsor or to donate items (pizza, ice cream, snacks, sporting tickets, gift cards, baskets, etc) please click on the button below.
